Gmsh three-dimensional finite element mesh generator
Gmsh is a free 3D finite element grid generator with a build-in CAD engine and post-processor. Its design goal is to provide a fast, light and user-friendly meshing tool with parametric input and advanced visualization capabilities. Gmsh is built around four modules: geometry, mesh, solver and post-processing. The specification of any input to these modules is done either interactively using the graphical user interface or in ASCII text files using Gmsh's own scripting language. Gmsh imports STEP, IGES and BREP files.
The picture below shows geometry imported into Gmsh.
Shown here is the mesh generated by Gmsh.
Below is the meshed geometry importeed into Solaria.
2D Plate (shell) elements and 3D solid elements are imported.
The following elements are imported. * 3-Noded Triangular Plates * 4-Noded quad Plates * 4-Noded Tetrahedrons * 8-Noded Brick elements * 5-node pyramid (broken into two Tetrahedrons)
